Bio

Robert Bella Hernandez was born in Hanford in 1977 and grew up in Corcoran, a predominantly Mexican migrant farm worker community in Central California. Overcoming many adversities in his school years, Robert expressed himself creatively in many ways through dancing, acting, drawing, and playing gospel and classical music on the piano.

During his senior year, Robert first experienced photography, using a 35mm Nikon camera and learning darkroom techniques in his yearbook class. Photography slowly became his love and passion and he eventually graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in photography from California State University.

Robert moved to New York in 2001 and was offered an internship and later employment with world-acclaimed photographer, David LaChapelle. In 2003, LaChapelle referred Robert for a cover shoot with Carmen Electra. Later that year, Robert began pursuing his individual calling as a photographer.

Robert's work has been seen in GQ, Complex, W Korea, E! True Hollywood Story, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Among his fashion, music and publishing clients, Robert has licensed images for candy connoisseur Dylan Lauren of Dylan’s Candy Bar, #1 Billboard chart-topping diva, Barbara Tucker, and the fashionable Tracy Stern of Salon Tea.
